L.A. Pop-up - Armani Exchange 2012
Body of Work
I have over 20 years of experience in visual merchandising, and have worked in multiple capacities my career. I have created and managed seasonal floorsets, conceptualized, designed, sourced, and implemented visual displays both in-store and in windows, overseen employee training and development as well as fixture and mannequin design. Often I operated in some or all of those roles simultaneously. I work well cross-functionally, always as a partner to further the best interests of the brand, and I'm able to be obsessive about aesthetic details while protecting core business strategies.
As a Producer at Industrial Color studios I managed a $1.2 million account producing E-Commerce and Trend photo shoots (stills and video), managing talent and crew bookings, equipment rentals, catering, and logistics. Controlled all production expenses to ensure spending was tracked, clients were billed accurately, and budgets were met. Maintained client sample database, overseeing the movement of thousands of SKUs over multiple deliveries per quarter to develop and monitor shoot schedules ensuring every item was captured to client specifications, on deadline. Clients: New York & Co, Lord & Taylor, Gabrielle Union.
I have 3+ years on-figure wardrobe styling experience working on both National Brand Campaigns and E-commerce thumbnail shoots. Clients include New York & Co, Draper James, Lucky Brand, Black & Decker, Casper, Movado, Lord & Taylor, Wolverine, JC Penny and Tumi.
At Armani Exchange I designed displays for windows and interiors to be installed company-wide in conjunction with seasonal merchandise sets. I designed and developed an updated A|X mannequin program to elevate flagship store presentation. I developed and sourced new store fixtures, working with multiple vendors to reduce production costs by 60%, while preserving both aesthetic and structural quality. Acted as an account manager overseeing a multimillion dollar yearly budget, cultivating relationships with 30+ vendors to procure competitive pricing and meet budget targets for all VM assets, engineering a cost savings of 60% on in-store fixture. I hired and trained several direct reports during this time, with a staff of 3 at its largest, and a dotted line to the training and development of up to a dozen Visual Managers in the field. I created the first A|X visual training program for Field Managers, leading workshops to improve visual standards and brand messaging. I worked closely with our International partners in a dozen different countries to ensure brand consistency within each unique market, traveling to Canada, Japan, UAE, and the UK to open stores and train new staff.
At New York & Company I conceived and implemented company-wide bi-weekly store merchandising for the Uptown, Eva Mendes, and Gabrielle Union collections, which represented 60% of gross sales of nearly 900 million dollars in 2019, reconciling inventory data to ensure appropriate placement of 5000+ individual SKUs in over 400 stores for both Chain Retail and Outlet divisions. Supervised and trained direct reports and field staff during the floor set process, and provided weekly merchandising and window styling direction, analyzing sales data and adapting to business trends. I designed, sourced, and installed showroom concepts for quarterly Board of Directors meetings.
